Where have the Floridians gone - 10/15/09 - Other stuff

I haven't laughed that hard for ages.

Read this

A Florida man named Joshua Basso ran out of cell phone minutes and dialed the only free number when he wanted sex - 911. That's right, the number we dial for emergencies only.

No way is this right in my book

Something good now:

Tampa foreclosures

Hillsborough County continues to experience declines, despite its 13th ranking in the state. Filings were up 6.7 percent from September but down more than 5 percent from a year ago.

Another take on No Fault's Action

That allowed Florida to remain behind Nevada and California with the highest foreclosure rates for the second month in a row.

Lets home it all goes down, foreclosures, monthly bills, auto insurance premiums, unemployment.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Nov. 14 (UPI) -- The world's largest cruise ship was a sight to behold as it steamed into its Fort Lauderdale, Fla., home port for the first time, observers said.

The ship -- which sports 24 restaurants, two rock-climbing walls and two surf simulators -- crossed the North Atlantic from a shipyard in Turku, Finland, to its new home port in 14 days, passing through hurricane-force winds along the way, the Herald said.

I personally hate cruise ships. Have boon on one and didn't feel well at all. Never ever again

Taylor Swift Country Music Awards

On Wednesday night, Taylor Swift stormed the Country Music Association Awards and took at home all four prizes for which Taylor was nominated, including the much-coveted Entertainer of the Year trophy.
While it seemed like a validation of Swift's success from the country music establishment, no much people was pleased with the 19-year-old's victory. Country music legend Wynonna Judd spoke out versus Swift's victory, though she reversed her position on Thursday.

During an interview on the show's red carpet Wednesday night, Wynonna was asked what advice she would give to Taylor Swift. "You want my loyal advice? It's too much too soon," Wynonna said, according to USAToday.com. "Time is God's way of keeping everything from happening at once. It's just too much of a good thing too soon. Mom and I rode in a vehicle for the first year of our career to visit radio stations. There was a making of the star, there was a rising-up, and the fans went with us. Now it's over coffee breaks, the success, almost."

But on Thursday, Judd clarified her stance on the message board of her official Web site. "I understand that my comment about Taylor Swift's Entertainer of the Year nomination came across as a negative statement," Wynonna wrote. "My intent was not to take anything away from her talent and contributions to the country music industry, all of which are truly unprecedented for an artist of any age. Taylor is a beautiful, hard-working young woman that deserves the success she has had and I support her as an artist and as a woman in the business."
