New things in Miami,FL

Flooding possible

The National Weather Service in Miami issued a flood advisory for Miami-Dade and Broward counties until 9:45 a.m. Wednesday.

The showers weren't causing delays Wednesday at Miami International Airport.

Fewer travellers

More than 753,000 passengers, about 2.5 percent less than last year, are expected to pass through Miami International Airport during the holiday week.

FLL has daily parking available at $15 a day. Daily parking is located in the garages adjacent to the terminals. Valet parking is available at the Palm and Hibiscus garages.

Cancer of fraud

A U.S. Senate committee revealed last year that public health insurer Medicare had paid as much as $92 million from 2000 to 2007 for medical services or equipment ordered or prescribed by doctors who were dead at the time.

Many had died more than five years before the date when they supposedly ordered or authorized the service.
